The day

Saturday 12 June, at Quinta da Pedra Azul, Sintra

• 2.30pm
  ARRIVAL

  Coaches leave the town centre at 2pm. Drinks in the courtyard when you arrive.

• 3pm
  CEREMONY

  In the garden under the cork oaks. It is short, outdoors and on grass, so leave the stilettos at home.

• 5pm
  DINNER

  A long table in the old stables, with speeches between courses.

• 9pm
  DANCING

  A band until midnight, then a playlist we have argued about for months.

• 1am
  CARRIAGES

  Coaches back to Sintra and to the hotels on the travel page.

WHAT TO WEAR

Summer formal. Evenings in the hills get cool, so bring a layer for after dinner.

CHILDREN

Little ones are very welcome. There is a quiet room with a sitter from 8pm.
